The Pleiades (2013)

Abstract The prominence of the Pleiades star cluster in the night sky, as well as its recurring seasonal reappearance, has brought it to the attention of many cultures in more recent times, as well as in the prehistoric past. This summary description includes references to its mythical and traditional importance, and an example of how it was depicted on a bark painting by an unknown indigenous Australian artist.
