Ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast--current management. (1997)

Abstract The management options in the treatment of patients with ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast are reviewed. Results of treatment by mastectomy, wide local excision, and local surgery followed by radiotherapy are analysed. Factors which incline the surgeon towards recommending mastectomy and the conditions which should be fulfilled for breast conservation are discussed.
